Your magical moment will begin at the new moon, November 9. You will have two weeks to start talks, but your very strongest period will be from Friday, November 9 to Tuesday, November 13. The beginning days of any new moon are always best, but this month there are more reasons to move things along, and those reasons revolve around what Mars will be doing.

Let me backtrack a moment and then I will tell you about Mars. Mercury, planet of contracts, communication, information, and commerce, is now about to turn direct motion on November 1. Don't jump into things on that day, as Mercury always acts badly when it moves from retrograde to direct and vice versa. I call those dates the "bookend dates" of the retrograde - dates to avoid. Plan to move forward no earlier than November 4. That's a Sunday, so you might as well wait until Monday, November 5.

OK, now on to Mars, and what this planet will be doing this month.

Mars, planet of action and drive, will go retrograde from November 15 to January 30, making it a harder for you to access the full strength of Mars' gifts. All new ventures require the booster rocket effect of Mars if they are to launch property. Even if you are not starting something new, you may run into delays in your day-to-day projects. Your client may change direction, or parts of the project may need to be redone for other reasons.

Not to worry - Mars will have no detrimental effect on your reputation, but if you do shake hands on a new venture or position (as is SO very possible this month) I would prefer that you have Mars moving at powerful direct speed at the time you accept the offer.

Thankfully, top positions of authority take a lot of time to win. As they say, the higher the salary, the more time you will need to devote to the interview process. The winter holidays will come in between, so before you know it, it will be January.

Now I have to drop the other shoe. Mercury will retrograde again between January 28 and February 17, 2008, just as Mars is turning direct. Also in February, we will have a major eclipse in Virgo, February 21, and that one will not be a friendly full moon eclipse. I would never suggest you plan to initiate a big move on an eclipse anyway, so February is out.

This means you would do best to set your career sights on March 7, which will bring the new moon in your earned income sector. That would be the soonest you should begin and it would be a good time.

Also, the time near April 20 would be fantastic - a full moon in your house of fame and honors! Well, well now - it doesn't get more agreeable than that!

This doesn't mean you will necessarily have to wait - you might be ready to move into your new position in a matter of days! If your boss already knows your work and is ready to reward you, your promotion could happen almost instantly!

Try to get things in place by November 13, with any contracts signed by then, too. I want you to have a good, strong Mars at the "birth" of your new position!

Since we seem consumed with talk of retrogrades this month, I have excellent news for you! Uranus will bolt forward on November 24, having been retrograde since June 23. When any planet retrogrades, it rests, so it switches off a large portion of its power. Uranus rules your sign, so no matter how you worked over the past five months, it was hard for you to make significant progress. In fact, you may have felt like you were climbing up a down escalator! It was hard to get anywhere!

Now, watch for important signs of change on the horizon near November 24. In the days that circle that date, you should see a definite sign that on so many levels, personal and professional, things are looking up! Neptune has recently just gone direct too, which is also a good sign, as Neptune is in Aquarius.

I am serious - when big outer planets like Uranus and Neptune change direction, you can hear the footprints thunder in the heavens! All this is really, really good news!

Your finances should also show impressive improvement, as Uranus is currently traveling through your earned income (salary) sector or second house. Chances are, you will get an offer to either make a lucrative side income by working on a freelance job, or a new position that you have been interviewing for will call with an offer to pay you a generous salary.
