March 2008 - Cancer PDF Print E-mail

On March 4, Mars will zoom back into Cancer, a wonderful development, because finally you will be able to get your projects and endeavors back on track. In late September Mars had entered Cancer and you began building momentum in October, only to see things fizzle in mid-November when Mars shut down in retrograde. Things had been going so well, and then suddenly everything went haywire. Mars finally normalized its orbit when it went direct at the end of January, but by then the Red Planet had slipped back into Gemini, so you had to wait through February until Mars would make it back to Cancer.

Finally, now, in March, Mars is back in Cancer and ready to help you in every way until it leaves on May 9. That gives you two glorious months of energy and speed. You'll have a certain presence and sense of purpose and authority that others will notice and respond to positively. If there's something difficult you've wanted to achieve, it will be imperative that you take your first steps now.

Your career may bring solid progress now. Mars is the natural ruler of your 10th house of fame, honors, and achievement, and now that Mars will be in Cancer you can make lots of progress if you are focused and determined. The new moon next month on April 5 will bring you another big boost. Here's what I suggest for your plan.

Begin thinking about your next big career move. Mercury is no longer retrograde (as was the case last month), so you can schedule talks and begin writing or changing your resume. Plan to have everything ready by that important career new moon next month, April 5. That date will be a Saturday, so it seems logical that Monday, April 7, will be your first productive day to schedule meetings and interviews.

There is one day that Mars will not be helpful, and that is when it will oppose Pluto on March 7. On and near that date you may feel enormous pressure to conform to a partner's wishes, and you may not appreciate how hard this person pushes you to accept a position you are resisting.

Since Mars and Pluto will both be at the critical zero and one degree of a cardinal sign, called "the Aries point" by astrologers, this will be a make-it-or-break it point. If you aren't happy with a partner, it appears you may become upset enough to leave. You have Jupiter in this same partnership house as Pluto is currently located. If the partner in question is a business associate, you will find it easy to replace the troublesome partner with one more compatible with you. If you want to patch things up with your present partner, you will be able to find the words. The result will be up to you.

The date of March 7 will be important to watch for another reason. That's the date of the new moon in Pisces, a lovely placement for you because Pisces is a fellow water sign. This new moon will brighten your house of travel and relationships with people based in foreign countries. It is clear that this new moon is about to usher in a brand new influence, one that will be infinitely broadening and refreshing. New ideas and concepts will bubble up, and new people will soon enter your sphere. Book a trip or make phone calls overseas, or begin to import or export goods, ideas, information, or services!

You may soon hear of a new publishing or broadcasting project that has your name written all over it, or you may be asked to teach your area of expertise to others. This is the part of the chart that encourages all of us to rise above the humdrum, routine part of life to see a bigger, broader picture of what we might contribute.

I am very enthusiastic about this new moon because the Sun and moon will conjoin Uranus, the planet of innovation. It's very possible that some sort of final breakthrough or sudden idea that you've been searching for a long time will now suddenly come up. Uranus is the great innovator, awakener, and rebel. Whatever occurs at this new moon could represent a breakthrough of powerful proportions. Whatever does pop up will happen suddenly - and afterward you'll be flushed with a radiant glow.

This would be doubly true if you were born July 7 plus or minus four days, for this new moon will precisely touch the degrees of your natal Sun.

I am especially excited by this coming new moon on March 7 because Jupiter will be in a perfect position to help you. This suggests there will be some sort of middleman or intermediary to help you see your luck with the just-mentioned areas. Your luck may be helped along by your agent, manager, headhunter, co-worker, spouse, significant other, or even a casual acquaintance. It is clear someone will intervene on your behalf and that you would never be able to achieve your luck without this person.

Financially, you may see some unexpected developments as well near March 7 or 8, because Uranus will conjoin the Sun. The Sun rules your solar 2nd house of earned income, possessions, and spending. This suggests that you may find a bargain that you will feel you have to take full advantage of - and act quickly! You may, on the other hand, make an impulsive purchase, and even though it's pricy, feel you need it. A better way this aspect may work out near March 7 or 8 is that you may get a chance to earn more money, possibly when you get a sudden offer to do a freelance assignment, or better yet, because your boss brings unexpected news that you've been approved for a raise.

Your home may become the source of a bit of drama at the full moon March 21. I am sorry to say that, because home should be a calm sanctuary where everything goes just right. Alas, this may turn out to be tough because four heavenly bodies will square off, each in ninety-degree angles to the other, in all four corners of the universe. Each of the cosmic bodies involved will be traveling in powerful cardinal signs. Astrologers call this configuration "a cardinal cross," which is considered a difficult configuration where a problem is presented but that requires an almost instant response. Being a full moon, it will represent an ending or culmination of some sort.

You may move, see a roommate move in or out, or you may rent, buy, or sell a house or apartment. If you do lease, buy, or sell, you may be pressured into accepting a price you really don't like, but will do it anyway because you don't have much choice. Outside factors will intervene.

Or, if you have been rooming with someone who moved out, you may find that getting another roommate is proving harder than you anticipated. You may decide to quickly move into a smaller space, even though this would not be your ideal scenario. Things like this happen under cardinal crosses - making an assertive bold decision in the light of harsh realities.

Conflicts between work and home, or between you and a family member / roommate, are also possible. Your partner / spouse may also add his or her two cents to a home-related situation, and again, if so, you will find yourself deadlocked in disagreement. You will find that you are at odds with just about everyone - their ideas seem completely alien to you - but hold your ground if you are passionate about how you feel. You may have to take a different approach with others, or, if you feel all this wrangling and drama simply takes too much energy, you may simply give up and give in.

If your birthday falls in June, specifically near June 21, you may feel tension on this full moon. Oh dear. I am sorry to report that. Be good to yourself on and near that day, especially if you have this early Cancer birthday. Keep your schedule light all week so that you can deal with home-related matters as they arise. You won't be able to put things off until later. Near March 21, you will feel an urgency to settle things immediately.

Romantically, you will have some lovely moments this month to keep you delightfully distracted. You'll do especially well in matters of the heart during the second half, the time when Venus will tour compatible Pisces, March 12 to April 5.

I mentioned earlier that Mars will be in Cancer, and that will help you in ways other than in your career! Mars will make you sexier and more attractive too - that's a promise! You'll have to manage all the extra attention you get this monthly. While other signs may laugh and say "Poor you!" without any sympathy, I know that as a Cancer you tend to be shy and reserved, so you may have to adjust to all the fuss. Indeed, Mars will be in a terrific shape to bring out the full range of your charms.

One of your very best weeks of the month for fun and romance will be March 15-16, when the moon glides in Cancer, and Venus in Pisces will send an ideal beam to Mars in Pisces. What a weekend! I give it three glittering gold stars!

The month ends on a beautiful note. Two lovely days will arrive on March 27 and 28. On the first day, March 27, Mercury will send a lovely beam to Jupiter and Uranus, suggesting your romantic partner (if you have one) could be the source of many happy surprises. Mercury also rules your communication house, so check those text messages, dear Cancer - there may be a very exciting one for you!

A short trip taken at month's end would be outstanding fun. If you can take a four-day holiday away, include Thursday, March 27, as part of your trip.

Lastly, Friday, March 28, should also be quite special. Venus will conjoin Uranus in Pisces, an ideal spot for you, and Jupiter and Uranus will make a sublime, rare, and inspirational vibration, filling you with hope and optimism, and allowing you to set new future goals. It's a sensational day, just made for you, dear Cancer!

Here is a summary of your very best romantic dates of the month: March 2, 7, 15-16 (3 gold stars), 25, 28, and 29.

Summary

You've come through the coldest part of winter, but in many parts of the world it's still not warm, so you may be frustrated that spring is still out of reach. Rather than wait patiently, see if you can find a bargain package and flee to warmer shores.

The weekend spanning March 7-9 would be ideal to pack and go, and if you find you can leave for a week or more, so much the better. Your sector of distant travel will be lit brilliantly, so even if you have not planned a vacation or business trip for March, you may get a surprise opportunity to go anyway. Stay flexible.

Aside from travel, there will be other opportunities that come up in the two weeks that follow the beautiful new moon, March 7. You may be offered an exciting publishing or broadcasting deal, or make plans for going away to college or grad school. Alternatively, you may initiate an international endeavor that will cause you to interact with someone abroad quite a bit from now on.

Mars has been out of sorts for months, but will now zoom through Cancer, giving you a main advantage from March 4 to May 9. It's imperative that you launch a venture that you are passionate about during this phase. We only get Mars' favor every two years, and you will have it now.

Mars will give you energy, drive, and all the determination you need to see your dream come to a successful conclusion. You won't take "no" for an answer now, nor should you. The ancients wrote that when Mars tours someone's sign, don't argue with a person of that sign - that person will win! Good for you!

A romantic or business partnership may become challenging near March 7 due to an opposition of Mars and Pluto. The intensity of your partner's demands may take you by surprise. This person will be hard to appease so keep your wits about you. It may be best not to lock horns, but rather to come at the problem from a different angle. If you are completely taken aback by what you hear, however, you may simply break the connection and walk out. See how you feel. Things will calm down in a few days.

One of your most dazzling weekends will fall over the March 15-16 weekend, when Venus, now in Pisces, will play tag with Mars, now in Cancer. Truly it will be a sensational weekend for romance. The spark of love will be in the air, and attached or single, Cupid will work hard for you. Put a big red circle around the weekend of March 15-16!

The full moon on March 21 will bring mixed messages. On one hand it will energize you to do something special to update your space. What do you need to do? Add a new rug to your living room? Paint your bedroom? Refinish your dining room table? Whatever you want to do, make it a point to browse on or just prior to March 21, for with a full moon in the critical degree of gentle Libra, you'll find options.

On the other hand, due to a cardinal cross pattern of four heavenly bodies in the sky at the full moon March 21, you may have problems in a relationship with a family member, roommate, contractor, landlord, buyer, seller, or other person involved in your home.

Someone will be at odds with you, to such a degree that you may wonder if you fell into a parallel universe where nothing ever goes right. This is certainly not the weekend to plan a family dinner with your in-laws, which is sad for me to say, because that weekend marks a family holiday for many, Easter Sunday.

Thankfully, the month ends with two very special days, March 27 and 28. No matter what happens earlier in the month, these days will put your faith back. March 27 and 28 would be ideal for a trip - a shorter one than perhaps taken earlier in the month - but still refreshing. Try to take a four-day holiday. Take time with the one you love and build plans for the future. With Jupiter and Uranus so beautifully angled, you will have one of the sweetest weekends possible for quiet time together. Take it, dear Cancer.
