Capricorn (December 22 - January 19) Your February Horoscope by Susan Miller These days, you are humming a happy tune. You've worked hard in the blind faith that someday you'd be rewarded and now there are unmistakable signs you were right. You will be rewarded in a material way, and that may happen as soon as now, in February! The month takes off on a glorious note. On February 1, Venus, now in Capricorn, will link to good luck planet Jupiter, also in Capricorn. This is an annual meeting of two enormously generous, giving planets, and to have them both in YOUR sign is sensational. Romantically this is an exceptional aspect, worthy of five stars. This same day, February 1, should also bring terrific career news. Use this day for an interview, presentation, public speaking, or an audition - you name it. If you have an important action to take, this is your day to do it! Matters related to appearance also sparkle. Have your hair styled, buy new clothes, or treat yourself to a professional massage. It's time to think about "you" for a change! The next key moment to watch will be the solar eclipse, a new moon, set to arrive on February 6. At this time your present boss may approve you for a generous raise or you may get an offer from another company. Sometimes a solar eclipse will "eclipse out" one source of income so that you find a new, better source. If the two events don't quite dovetail, don't torture yourself with thoughts of never working again - nothing could be farther from the truth. You are now in one of the best months of the year to see financial gains. Once the solar eclipse appears, it will be a good time to look for options. But don't become anxious at the idea that one source of income may be ending - it might not. Sometimes companies merge with other firms so if you are working for one, the source of your income would technically change but you'd never leave the firm - or your desk. To you, the "new" company that results is nothing more than a new name printed across the top of your paycheck. In this case you'd have the same boss, the same desk, and the same assignments, but in effect, your salary would emanate from a new corporation. If you do need more income, this month you may not have to look too hard. An offer may come to you quite easily, perhaps from someone you used to work with, or from something you put in motion a long time ago (and may have even forgotten about)! In astrology it's always best to put in a little effort rather than sit back when you have aspects as special as you have now. That way you would be casting a wide net and reap the very best of what's out there for you! An eclipse is operative not for a few weeks but for six months, so you will have the time you need to find more income. Mars will be in beautiful angle to the eclipse, so if you are self-employed, new business should be easy to generate after the eclipse of February 6. If you work for others, you may get a new assignment or extra side job that pays exceptionally well. Neptune is in your second house of income, in mutual reception with Uranus, so you may gain from an artistic project or one involving writing. Mars' position also reveals that you will be reassessing the methods you use to get your job done. You may now get the green light to hire an assistant, for clearly you need one. Mercury will be in retrograde until February 17, so while you can interview candidates it would be best to hire your choice next month. Your earned income sector will be crowded with four planets in innovative Aquarius, so you may make money by introducing a new high-tech product or by writing the software code for such an electronic item. You may gain from any one of the sciences too, such as such as genetics, the space program, or robotics, as a few examples of many possibilities. You may also gain from your efforts in social work, politics, charities and fundraising, and other humanitarian causes. You should be aware that Mercury would be retrograde in your earned income house until February 17. This means that you may find mistakes in your statement, or that checks that you are depending on go missing for a while. It would be wise to send out reminders to anyone who owes you. Mercury will be in Aquarius, so computer errors could crop up - your bank could lose a deposit you made or forget to credit a payment you made on your credit card, so look at your statements carefully. Check your credit rating too - this month someone may try to be "you" by making unauthorized purchases or by doing money laundering on your account. (Yes, this type of thing happens - it happened to me!) The second eclipse this month on February 20 will occur in your 9th house, bringing on an array of various possible outcomes. This will be a full moon lunar eclipse in Virgo, so this tells me it will bring a more weighty or emotional reaction in you than the other eclipse. It will mark an ending, and once you walk over the rickety bridge that will appear, you will not be able to go back. If you don't like what you see in your life after this eclipse (you might), the only recourse will be to make even more changes up ahead. There is always a sense of finality on a lunar eclipse. You may hear of the outcome of a court case or judgment form the bench. Alternatively, since the courts system will be highlighted in your case, you may be sworn in as a citizen in a new country, or asked to do jury duty. The 9th house is a philosophical house that teaches the value of fairness, which is why the courts are included in this house. It's also possible you will be ready to file a patent or trademark, always a happy day that brings cause for celebration. This same part of your chart rules travel, especially internationally or very long distances within your own country (such as the distance of New York to San Francisco). All global dealings and projects that involve import-export or international relationships would also be activated. You may need to travel suddenly, perhaps for work. If you do take a journey, Saturn's strong presence at this eclipse suggests that you will be in a highly focused, serious mood that will transmit to others that you mean business. There is some indication that the trip may instead be to visit a relative, most likely an aunt, uncle, stepparent, or in-law. Again, the reason for the trip would not likely be for a lighthearted family reunion but to complete family business or to bring cheer to this beloved relative you care about. Decisions you make at this time will be in effect a long time or will have a sense of finality about then. Eclipses have a way of bringing events that have no room for negotiation or change. Since this sector is the area where ideas are discussed, analyzed, and vetted, higher education comes under the domain of the 9th house. Under this eclipse you may decide to change colleges, or be tempted to drop out of college for good. If this is how the eclipse works for you, I urge you not to give up. With Saturn in this house, it looks like professors have been tough on you. If that is the case and you've found the course of study difficult, you may do better in a different university. Learning is a very individual matter, so if you don't like your school's style or teaching methods, you may have to do some research to find a college that better suits you. Or, it may be that you need to change your major, and once you do, you'd be happier. Don't give up! Find the school that suits your needs and the major that matches your talents. Publishing and broadcasting enterprises are also areas that come under this same part of the chart that rules ideas, and also could bring news. OK, I will admit that I feel this eclipse could bring a depressing set of circumstances or a piece of adverse news in one of the areas we have been discussing, and an adjustment from you will probably be necessary. This is only a possibility, but there's enough of a possibility that I feel I have to let you know. As said earlier, full moon lunar eclipses like the one due February 20 usually focus on endings, which are always more emotional than solar eclipses. It appears that whatever matter is before you has been building for some time, but now tension is reaching critical mass and the center will not hold. With Saturn prominent, you will need to be realistic, practical, and clear thinking - a tall order, considering this will be an electrically charged full moon. Fortunately, the very qualities you will need so desperately will be the very ones that describe you as a Capricorn. Your 7th house of partners will also be highlighted at the same time that this lunar eclipse appears on February 20, so your spouse or business partner may form part of the news. You may experience pressure from your spouse or associate, or suddenly face an aggressive competitor, which may trigger your reaction in the first place. I should mention if you were focused on an in-law's health or welfare at this eclipse, it would explain why your partner might be involved with the activities of this eclipse. The point here is that your partner may not be part of the problem, as you see in this example. There appears to be lots of tension, so I am trying to see where it is all emanating from. Keep this point in mind: An eclipse doesn't just deliver news on the day it appears, but within the week it arrives, and may come late, arriving one month to the day later, plus or minus five days. An eclipse will be in effect, however, for six months. If you were born on December 23, you would find ways to make this February 20 eclipse work for you, even if there are annoying elements to what is going on at the time. Capricorns who were born on December 23 or close to it had Jupiter conjunct the Sun on the anniversary of your birth a few months ago. I am not one bit worried about you - your horoscope positively radiates good luck all year. If this February 20 eclipse is to work in your favor, it will help you stabilize a situation in one of the areas I discussed concerning that eclipse. A few days after the lunar eclipse of February 20, a difficult day is likely to come up on February 24, when Saturn opposes the Sun. Responsibilities and obligations may press on you then, or an authority figure's criticism may be oppressive. The Sun rules your solar 8th house of joint money, credit, and taxes, so financial news could be a sore point. Suffice to say, February 24 won't be anyone's favorite day, but if you let a few days pass, you will start to feel much more optimistic and energetic again. Study the news you get on this difficult day with an air of practicality and objectivity. There is always another day to make things right again. I can assure you that March will be a far better month, so you can count on that! Now let's switch our attention to romance. In matters of the heart, Valentine's Day may come early for you, on the day Venus, planet of love, and Jupiter, giver of gifts and luck, conjoin on February 1. These two loving planets are due to rendezvous in Capricorn. How fortunate! On this day, your magnetism will reach an all-time high and electricity will be in the air. Attached or single, this will likely be a very rare and memorable four-star day. Were you born on or near December 31? Venus and Jupiter will conjoin your exact mathematical degrees of your Sun, so you must promise me you will go out! February 6, important for good news about money, will brim with chance meetings and all sorts of happy surprises, too. Although February 6 won't glitter as brightly as February 1, it still will be sweet nevertheless. If you are not attached, the very fact that Jupiter is on your Sun bodes well for an important meeting with a prospective romantic partner. This month Capricorns with December birthdays will benefit most, but all Capricorns of every birthday will have their turn at some point in 2008 as Jupiter continues to travel through space. Pluto, the great transformer, is also in Capricorn, at the critical zero degree, said by the ancients to denote the very life force when in any one of the four cardinal signs (Capricorn, Cancer, Aries, and Libra) at zero or one degree, as it will be in February. To say your life is shifting to a vastly better place would be a major understatement. Valentine's Day should please you if you do have someone special. If you don't, there's no reason to stay inside. Call a few friends and plan a fun night anyway. Good energy attracts good energy! One thing you need to watch on Valentine's Day evening is the possibility that your boss will heap a lot of work on you that day. Getting out at a decent hour may turn out to be more difficult than you suppose. Suggest to your partner that you both meet up for a late dinner so you won't have to rush. Best romantic dates: February 1 (four stars), 6, 8, 14, 16, and 29. Summary Capricorn has not had the easiest time with money over the past two years, an unusual situation for you, as you are known to be an excellent money manager. Now, a new day is dawning. The solar eclipse of February 6 will help you redress your cash flow, pay off debt, and get back on track. If you are in a creative profession, you'll be especially well positioned for a windfall or steep rise in salary, but in truth all Capricorns stand to gain from this benevolent eclipse. The harder you have worked in the past, the more generous your bounty will be now. Your confidence will be on the rise too as a nice side bonus. As they say, nothing succeeds like success. In addition, the lunar eclipse, a full moon, may cause you to travel quite a distance, possibly across country or overseas, near or within weeks of February 20. If you do take a journey, with Saturn you will have a definite goal to accomplish, and so you will need a detailed plan to accomplish all you have to do. There will be considerable pressure to come back with the goods. The more buttoned up you are, the better. Fortunately, this eclipse will be in Virgo, a sign that blends well with your sign. Although events will be coming at you very rapidly, you will be able to handle the details and actually benefit from what occurs - even if you fear you will fall on your face! Be optimistic! You'll come through with flying colors. Valentine's Day may bring on a memorable, special day, because this year you have Jupiter in Capricorn, considered a highly likely time to meet your one true love. Jupiter only comes to Capricorn once every 12 years, but in 2008, Jupiter will remain at your side. If dating seriously, there's a very good chance that you may get engaged for Valentine's Day, or if already committed to one another, you may choose to really go all out this year to make a memorable, special day. |
