It would be unwise to make any key professional moves until that latter date, October 20 - and throughout the month, keep your plans away from nosy people.

The end of the month continues your career progress in an even bigger way. Here is another spectacular date for planning a meeting that you will want to keep under wraps: October 27, when Mars sends Jupiter a golden beam. This day would be superb for discussing your professional future, for you would see results.

When you are hot, you're hot, and your fine luck keeps on rolling to the very last day, October 31. With Mars in your house of fame signaling Uranus in your house of money, you will have a good chance to reach an important career breakthrough, and that's no trick - it's all treat!

A gorgeous new moon is about to appear in your house of professional honors, awards, and career achievement on October 28. This will be the only important new moon of the YEAR, and it will occur late this month. So while you may choose to wait until October 20 to make decisions and announcements, you'd benefit even more if you can wait one additional week, until October 28 and in the days that follow. A full moon brings decisive action, so you won't have to wait for an answer - it should be obvious and come quickly.

You may also travel earlier in the month, and if so, that trip would take you over longer distances. Again, your meetings would also be quite successful. Yet there will be something about your full moon meeting near October 14 that seems to bring the most dramatic, exciting news.

This trend for travel also includes a strong emphasis on international relationships, especially from October 1 to 10. If you have to go to see one of your clients who are based abroad, you'd do best to go at that time, even though Mercury is in retrograde then.

Mercury retrograde is an aspect that happens three or four times a year for a three-and-a-half week period. This period began last month on September 23 and extends to October 15, but Mercury won't fully regulate its orbit until October 20. Use that latter date as your start date to begin to initiate plans. It's never wise to shop for expensive things, agree to big plans, or sign contracts when Mercury is retrograde. Think of this period as a time when the universe will signal that the wind is changing direction. Until the wind stops moving and shifting, you won't know which way to go. Trust that you will know later, and be glad you waited.

This month, Mercury will retrograde in your ninth house ruling foreign people and developments abroad, publishing projects, broadcasting ventures, and university study. If you work or deal in any of these areas, this is the area of life where your delays, postponements, and cancellations will show up in the first two weeks of the month.

If traveling, get accurate directions, remember to bring your passport and ticket, call the airline before you leave the house, and mark your luggage very carefully. Your flight may be delayed so don't pack your computer cord, as you may need it as you sit there in the terminal and wait for your flight.

Romantically, your social life will take a big leap forward next month - once Mars enters your eleventh house of hopes and wishes on November 16, you will be on your way. Next month you'll step out much more, and friends will have many ideas for you.

In the meantime, lovely Venus will add a light and breezy note this month when this planet of social graces enters the same very social people / friends / events area of your chart from October 18 to November 12.

Capricorn Forecast for October 2008

Wow, some of your most sterling career opportunities of 2008 will surface during the first two weeks of October. The problem is, Mercury will be retrograde, a holdover from last month, making it not a good time to accept a new position. You can investigate new positions, but just proceed slowly and don't jump to any conclusions. Delay making a career commitment if asked until the last third of the month - your best time to do so.

If you accept a position earlier in October, it will change in ways you can't now predict, and that certainly won't please you. It is not that you will be deceived - it is more likely that conditions surrounding the position will change so rapidly that even your intended employer can't be sure of what's about to come up around the next corner. Or, it may be that management has not thought through the position very well and will flip-flop about what they feel they need in a candidate at the last minute, or when you've already taken the job.

Mercury started to retrograde last month on September 23 and will go direct on October 15, but will not be fully functional until October 20. These periods are always very fluid, and with conditions changing dynamically minute-by-minute on several fronts. You won't have the facts you need to make a decision but you will have those facts later, from October 20 onward. Be patient - you will be glad you waited.

If you decide to reject a career opportunity that comes up now, you will have a second chance in April 2009 to find something you like better, so don't despair. April will bring really special career aspects for you, so there's no reason to take a job that you aren't enthusiastic about now.

The full moon, October 14 plus four days, will help you make a major decision about real estate, property, home, or family. All full moons are operative four days on either side, so see if you can deliver your decision no earlier than October 18 for best results. Sagittarius Forecast for October 2008

Through much of October, you'd do best to keep a low profile and work quietly behind the scenes. October will be somewhat messy, as Mercury will be retrograde until October 15 (but will not completely regulate itself until October 20). It will not be a time for launching any new endeavors. Astrology teaches that there are times to act and times to hold back. Your time to move assertively forward will come in mid-November when Mars will be ready to move into Sagittarius, so you won't have to wait too long.

The new moon on October 28 will help you tie up loose ends on an ongoing project. From October 28 onward, work to perfect your strategy for the coming year, for the more you plan the better things will go later. Ruthlessly go over your plans to see if your estimates and assumptions seem correct. If you like, you can talk very quietly to those you trust about your ideas to get important advice and input. Close friends will be helpful and available, especially during the first half of the month.

As said, Mercury will not return to solid shape until October 20. The days prior to this, October 1-19, would not be the time to buy expensive things, and certainly not anything with moving parts, such as an electronic gadget, flat screen TV, car, watch, or computer. Mercury tends to create all kinds of mix-ups, delays, confusion, and misunderstandings, so stay lose, go the extra mile to communicate clearly, and carry a list of things to do!

Mercury retrogrades for three-and-a-half-weeks three or four times a year. This time around Mercury will retrograde in your friendship sector, so you will likely run into many old pals. If you have any friends you haven't seen in a long time but have been thinking about lately, make a call. Chances are that person's been thinking about you, too! You may run into people on the street or in restaurants quite by happenstance, and that's always wonderful fun.

Financially, things look really bright. With Jupiter finally in direct orbit since September 8 and Saturn not due to retrograde until December 31, you will find yourself in a rare period where you can finally turn a corner and make the kind of money you deserve. This lovely trend will be further emphasized by Pluto, a financial planet too, having turned direct last month on the same day as Jupiter.

You may not see the truth of this powerfully beneficial financial trend until the new moon, December 27, but if you've worked hard and done everything right, you will - money is absolutely on the way. (Make no plans to vacation between Christmas and New Year's - you have to be around to make this all happen!)

In the meantime, a sensational time for private talks that involve monetary decisions will be October 3-6, due to Venus' fine angle to Jupiter. Don't make any concrete promises or actions yet, however, because things are liable to change.

Wait until your next good day, October 27, when Mars will speak with Jupiter, and by then, Mercury will be in fine form.

This month you may learn that one friend is in the hospital or is otherwise confined, and if so, you'll have the time this month to visit her. Scorpio Forecast for October 2008

Last night, in a lecture I was giving, a young pretty Scorpio woman who was about 28 raised her hand and said she was feeling frustrated because she was having trouble getting projects off the ground. She said she felt uncharacteristically frozen, unable to become motivated enough to push projects forward. She was also having problems getting needed support from partners around her. I told Miss Scorpio, as I will tell you, that the situation for Scorpio is not serious, only temporary, and certainly nothing to fret about.

The month before your birthday is always one of low energy. It's supposed to be that way, so that you slow down and think carefully about your birthday year ahead. It's a quiet, reflective, and strategic time, perfect for mapping out plans for the future. To push forward with plans and decisions while you have the Sun in a weak position in the chart would be out of sync with the universe. It's a great time to think, so wait a bit before you act.

Adding to this theme is Mercury retrograde, making things go slowly anyway. Mercury is the planet ruling buying and selling, communicating and negotiating, transporting and shipping, and electronics and machines. All these areas go haywire when Mercury is out of phase, as it is now, and is prone to do four times a year for three-and-a-half week period. Trying to get an agreement would be very difficult now, and so much easier to get later after Mercury goes direct on October 15. Things will improve further when Mercury's whirling static slows down, October 20.

You are not known to be patient, however, and with Mars barreling into Scorpio for the first time in two years on October 4, and planning to stay until November 15, you'll be biting at the bit and ready to tear out of the gate. For sure, Mars will make you feel like madly rushing forward, but to do that when the other planets aren't cooperating is to invite even more frustration. Sometimes we are forced by others to respond. In those cases, drag things out as much as you can.

Once you get to October 20, you'll be relieved to see things begin to click easily into place. People will seem more focused and on point, as well as more serious about building workable alliances with you.

While you await planets to move into strong positions, October is a good month to focus on health issues. At the start of the month, you may go to see your doctor for your yearly checkup and your dentist for a semi-annual cleaning.

So crazed might you be at the office, if you've never liked your job, you may be tempted to quit and change jobs near October 14. That wouldn't be a wise idea - you are likely to jump into a job with many of the same problems. Also your new job would be on a par with this one, not a step up. In other words, you'd be making a lateral move - who needs that? February 2009's eclipses will help you find a better position if you need one and hadn't already moved jobs last August. Sit tight. Once you get to the new moon in Scorpio on October 28, you'll be feeling your oats. All your plans will take flight and at long last, everything will be right with the world. This will be one of the most important new moons of 2008 for you, for you can direct its energy to any part of your life you choose. Know that the time to act is on or just after a new moon, so if you have something important, save it for this point in the month to launch.
