Nothing about July will be ordinary or typical of what you've experienced so far this year. It will be important to view this month for what it really is - a chance for a fresh start for truly, after July, a whole new chapter in your life may begin to shape up. There is a strong possibility that what occurs now will be a harbinger of more exciting developments to come later in the year. As July opens, you may be either invited to a wonderful social event, or working on a highly creative project that is about to culminate very soon, within the first few days of July. I say this because the full moon, which fell on June 30, will still be exerting a very powerful influence in the first three to four days of your new month. Mercury has been retrograde since last month, and as you begin July, Mercury will continue to be out of phase until July 9. This time Mercury was moving backward in sentimental Cancer, a sign that rules family, and also a sign that rules memories and dreams. You may have found that you were thinking a lot about your childhood or about your mother in particular. There was probably something that triggered this in you, such as a decision to clean out closets where you came across many photographs, drawings, poems, or other personal material. This nostalgic theme continues in early July, and it may be one that you enjoy. When Mercury moves forward, this trend will end and it will be time to turn your attention forward again.

There is another way Mercury retrograde could have affected you, and that could have been to make you think quite a bit about an old sweetheart that you have never been able to get out of your system. You may have wanted to contact that person again, and perhaps you did last month. Or, you may have simply searched on the Internet for tidbits of information to satisfy your curiosity about what has happened to that person since you parted. If that person was important to you, and you want to reconcile or reconnect, early July would be the time to make your move.

Last month, I urged you not to buy any important electronics or to make any large purchases while Mercury was retrograde. That advice still holds. You can go shopping once you reach the bright new moon, July 14, but not any earlier, as it is never wise to spend a great deal of money while Mercury is retrograde. Indeed, it's not good to spend money on dates that fall too close to the turn of Mercury to direct either. So even if Mercury turns on July 9, wait until July 14 before you buy your iPhone or new HDTV or new computer. You'll be glad you waited. I will give you the same advice in regard to making important decisions, signing new contracts or agreeing to important new positions and key assignments.

The swooning romance you've long hoped would happen could begin once the new moon arrives on July 14. That new moon will open an important portal in your emotional life, so it will be important to circulate more at that time. The new romantic interests you meet in the two weeks that follow that new moon have the power to affect you for the whole year to come. Indeed, this will be one of your very best moments of the year to begin a new romance. Your strongest week will be the one that falls July 14 to 21.

There are several reasons I am enthusiastic about your romantic prospects. This key new moon (and you only get one a year in your house of true love) will be in lovely angle to Uranus, suggesting lots of happy surprises are in store for you. Adding to all this will be the move of Venus into your committed partnership sector (seventh house) on the same day, July 14. Venus is set to stay a very long time in this area, as Venus will retrograde from July 27 to September 8. Venus in retrograde is not a strong Venus, but the fact is, Venus, planet of love, will be spending quite a long time in your relationship sector. Let's be thankful for that! Even a weak Venus is better than no Venus! At the very least, Venus will be giving you help where you need it most!
