September 2007 - Pisces PDF Print E-mail
You are now at your half-birthday. Each September, the Sun is positioned 180 degrees away from your sign on the old, creaky horoscope wheel. That is as far as the Sun will go before it loops back to begin its six-month journey back to Pisces. Until then, deprived of the Sun's comforting warmth, September is always your personal "winter." You may feel a bit alone, without the warm support of a partner or other staunch ally to help you. This only lasts for a few weeks, but you may notice it a little more this month.

Partners that you rely on will seem somewhat oblivious to your needs during the first three weeks of September. Left to your own devices you will have little choice but to roll up your sleeves and do things for yourself. You will soon see that you are perfectly capable of taking good care of yourself. As they say, "Time waits for no man" - certainly not for an energetic Pisces.

There is always a plus to any situation and in your case, you will be able to take all the credit later when your decisions prove to be right. In addition, others can't say you didn't earn your success, because it will be obvious that you did. If you do work with one or two partners, they will have the upper hand this month, so you will have to be a bit more conciliatory and cooperative than usual.

Pisces deals well with both ambiguity and solitude, so while facts will be in as short supply as help from others, you will be perfectly equipped to deal with the situation. Other signs often crumble in times like these, but the little Fish has fierce survival instincts. You are able to sense the smallest ripple in the waters near you, so if you sense any trouble advancing, you are the first to swim to a warmer, safer part of the ocean well in advance of other creatures. Don't underestimate your well-honed instincts - it is the secret of your success.

Saturn will move into Virgo for a two-year stay beginning on September 2 and a somewhat wayward solar eclipse will also shake things up on September 11. Until cosmic storms are over, you'll need to sleep with one eye open. Both the eclipse and Saturn will be in the same house and bring up the same type of meditations and discussions. This is no month to hold on to fantasies or illusions, not with so many planets asking you to see things realistically and to deal with difficulties head on.

Of course, you can be as practical, realistic, and analytical as the next person, and you often are, but you don't tend to show this side of yourself to others in an obvious way. As a result, people discount the idea that these qualities exist in you. Now those people will be sorry for having underestimated you. When it comes time to make a decision, you can be stunningly quick, sure and sound in your thinking.

Saturn's position always reveals where new challenges will surface, and for you it will be in your closest partnerships, whether those partnerships are business or personal (marriage) in nature. Saturn in the seventh house is a double-edged sword, bringing the possibility for both bountiful benefits and frustrating difficulties. On the plus side, Saturn can bring amazing stability, support, and rock solid loyalty from a partner. Saturn can also bring wisdom, financial security, and a good sounding board on which to base future decisions. On the minus side, you may find all sorts of areas where you don't see eye to eye.

Not all partnerships will bring you problems, so I want to be clear on that point. With your aspects, one partner might give you reason for pause, but it is not a guarantee, and if you are careful you can avoid all sorts of problems from the start. (This is why we study astrology.) To be safe, be very careful about all new commitments you make or joint ventures you enter into from now on. All your learning experiences will come through partners. If you are setting up a business alliance, check all references first. This is always wise, but now it will become critical to do so. If you are planning to wed, it wouldn't hurt knowing more about your partner's credit rating or family history - it is just being smart.

One committed partner in your life may now need to live separate from you because of a work or study program that requires it, or for other reasons. This person may not be your spouse. For example, you may have an agent you were used to seeing regularly in your city, but your agent may have to move away to be closer to family, say, to help an ill relative. In the future, you will converse with her on the telephone instead. Again, this seems temporary, so don't be blue about it.

OK, I will admit that it's also possible that the obvious will occur, that you'll encounter troubling irreconcilable differences between you and your romantic partner and announce temporary or permanent separation. That is only one of many possibilities, so don't be frightened by that, nor let that make you too negative. There is no destiny here - if you love your partner, then suggest that you work together to iron out difficulties before they grow larger. Early-born Pisces with February birthdays will feel this trend first, although all Pisces will have a turn at it.

If you are older and remember the last time Saturn was in Virgo 1977-1980 (assuming you were older than say, 18) you may have already learned most of Saturn's lessons and will breeze through this period fairly easily. Saturn tends to have a stronger influence when we are young, although if we don't learn all the lessons Saturn hopes to teach us then, we are doomed to experience the same issues again later, on Saturn's second go-round 29 years later. We only get three visits from Saturn in one house of the horoscope in our lifetime, as it takes 29 years for Saturn to circle the Sun (and the zodiac).

If you were born during those years, 1977-1980, and you know you have Saturn in Virgo, you will also deal well with this upcoming trend because you will be familiar with Saturn in this position. You are about to have your "Saturn return" and will crave stability and commitment, and actually, it will be a good time to make a commitment, such as marriage, assuming you know your intended partner well.

There is another way this aspect may work out. Instead of not getting along with your partner, you may become very concerned about the welfare of your partner. In this application of Saturn in Virgo, you may be called on to support your partner through a crisis. Your partner may be ill or going through a difficult time at work, and you'll want to be there to offer ideas, advice, and lots of good cheer. This is a common application of this aspect, and one in which Pisces is uniquely qualified to fill.

Eclipses are famous for stirring things up, bringing unexpected developments, and for testing one's resourcefulness. Just in case you don't notice that Saturn is moving into your partnership sector, we have a solar eclipse due in the very same house, on September 11.

If you have business partners, you may find in coming months that your partners are very critical and exacting types, especially when it comes to money. Or, they may be very conservative and unable to step with the times. In either of these cases, you will have to prove to them your worth, while also helping them see the value of updating their thinking.

With Uranus on your Sun, you will want to move forward with vigor, eschewing tradition, but the partners you seem to be attracting now will not be so brave. This is not necessarily a bad thing, however, because the dynamic tension that results could produce precisely the right balance between you. Your partners will hold you back from moving too fast and from being too radical, while you will help them by showing innovative ways of thinking and by informing them of current trends.

The eclipse of September 11 will open a door for your partnership, so if you are dating and serious about your partner, you may get engaged or even married this month. Big life decisions happen at eclipse time, so if you do see a big development in your personal life, that would certainly seem right. You may alternatively be interested in forming an important contractual relationship with a new business partner.

Pisces who were born on March 8 or within five days of this date will feel the effects of this solar eclipse most.

Although not all things will go exactly as planned this month, especially near September 9 and 11, you seem not to see this as a disadvantage. Rather you may see what goes on as an opportunity to break burdensome bonds that have held you back. Cutting off debilitating partnerships and contractual agreements will allow you to pursue a better situation, one more suited to you. You'll surprise others with your confident, swift, and decisive style that you'll present. If anyone assumed you'd be a pushover, or content to follow an old script, they'll be sorry, for you are about to wake them up!

You may also need to give your attention to a residential or family situation this month. Mars is still moving through your home and family sector, suggesting that you may aim to buy, sell, or lease a space, or fix up your space in an exciting way. Alternatively, you may be busy helping a family member at some point during September.

Whatever domestic plan you have - and it may have begun as long ago as mid-June - try to hurry your project along to conclusion by month's end. Once Mars leaves your home sector on September 28, you won't be as focused on domestic concerns. This part of life will recede in importance as other parts begin to vie for your attention.

There is another reason to keep moving forward this month. Mercury will go retrograde from October 11 to 31, making everything a little harder to navigate in October. Delays, miscommunications, forgetfulness, and other mishaps tend to happen when Mercury is retrograde. This planet rules communication, transportation, negotiation, commerce, and contracts, and these are areas that will bring difficulties next month. It would not be wise to buy anything expensive (and that includes a house or furniture), nor to make any key announcements.

Also, do NOT to buy any electronics in October as Mercury rules moving parts, and when retrograde, problems tend to arise. Don't insert new software either. Even though Mercury will not retrograde until October 11, you will feel the effects earlier - all month. You will want to stay far away from this aspect as possible!

I always advise not to sign contracts when Mercury is retrograde, nor to agree to announce any big life decisions. Still, some readers write to ask, "Can I just shake hands on a new job when Mercury is retrograde? I am not signing a contract, so is that OK?" Alas, the answer is no. Nothing works when Mercury is retrograde, so verbal agreements are also a no-no.

My younger daughter Diana signed her lease on her cottage when she moved to West Hollywood during Mercury retrograde a while back, much to my horror. Before the lease was up, the landlord sold the property, and she had to move, quite unexpectedly. She learned about the sold property during a subsequent retrograde period, and she moved, within weeks. Luckily she found a sweet space she loved, but she had the right aspects to apartment hunt, by some miracle. No one is able to duck the problem of Mercury retrograde, so don't take chances if you don't have to!

All month, keep an eye on your health, dear Pisces, as eclipses bring on draining events. Sometimes eclipses also bring out medical problems that you should address quickly. If you note a concern, call a doctor or dentist to nip it in the bud. Schedule checkups just after the solar eclipse, September 11.

Saturn, now in Virgo, will drain your calcium reserves and could also bring problems with digestion. You might want to switch to more bland foods when you are in a stressful situation. You may also need to take calcium tablets and a multi-vitamin, so ask your doctor if she agrees.

You'll be busy all month, for it looks like there will be a change of assignment or personnel in your immediate working areas causing the need for adjustments in work flow. Someone may be "eclipsed out" of your office just after September 11 - a coworker or subordinate may suddenly announce a departure. If so, you'll have to pick up the slack, and that means longer hours, but just for a while until a new recruit can be hired.

All in all, September is due to be a topsy-turvy month where you'll have to come up with many solutions. Still, you've been through a number of eclipses in Virgo before, so you will be able to handle things quite well. Once we get to February 21, 2008, all the eclipses in your sign and opposite sign of Virgo will be over. Hooray!

Even though there may be small changes on the job, your career will thrive brilliantly, so much so that you may be struck by the enormity of life's contrasts. A case in point will be Pluto's turn direct on September 7, a change in orbit that will bring enormous energy to your career. Progress should be very obvious near that date!

New projects as well as business relationships that you've been eager to forge have probably shown little or no progress over the past five months. All that will change with the move of Pluto to direct speed on September 7. Pluto is now in your tenth house of honors, awards, achievement, and fame, so the news you get from now on should be substantial, allowing you to advance to the next phase rapidly. You may get publicity now too, and all the reviews will be positive!

Saturn's supportive angle to Jupiter will be another sign that all things are possible if your dreams are big enough and your passion for your endeavor deep enough. Keep your eye on the days that circle September 7 for a stunning professional breakthrough!

At the full moon, September 26, money matters will require attention. You may receive a check due to you, hear about a raise, or be offered a new job. It's also possible that you will have to pay a large bill or that an expense you had not anticipated will come up. The best way this full moon may work out is that you will buy something madly expensive that you've wanted a long time. Cross your fingers that it's the latter!

Speaking of money, if you work on commission or receive royalties, or are seeking venture capital, a business loan, or mortgage (as some examples), you were hampered by Venus being retrograde over the past two months. No matter how persuasive your argument to the people in charge, you probably came out of meetings depressed and empty-handed. Now you will more likely get the money you need, once Venus goes direct on September 8. Watch the days around that day for special luck!

Venus won't go retrograde anytime soon again, so you are truly looking at a better situation if you need to raise money or get the right settlement from an insurance company, or in a divorce or other negotiation.

Romantically, you are about to receive some of the very best aspects for love that you've have had in years. (When was the last time I have said anything like that? Never!) Mars, the planet of energy and light, will move into your true love sector for months, and bring Pisces a plethora of opportunity to enjoy love, affection, and so much more fun!

Usually Mars visits a sign for seven weeks, but soon Mars will do something very unusual by remaining in this part of your chart for over six months! Mars will help you until May 9, 2007 - that's A LOT of help from Mars!

Part of Mars' plan will be to bring out your charm and magnetism, so as you move through this period, which will include the holiday season, you will have to get used to the fuss. Others will find you irresistible! If you are single and break up with someone, it looks like the universe will quickly get you back in circulation and that you will have no trouble meeting new romantic interests.

Attached Pisces may also enjoy this trend, for you will have more fun together. If you have wanted a baby, this period - from September 28, 2007 to May 9, 2008 - would be your best time to try. Mars will be retrograde during part of this period, so you may find that Mars is a tad less helpful for helping you conceive during that phase, from November 15 to January 31.

Creativity is important to you, always, for Pisces is THE creative sign. With Mars trained on your fifth house of true love for months, your creativity will benefit too, for creative efforts are covered by the very same part of your chart. Ideas will come easily and you'll impress those who pay you for your ideas. If you are self-employed and in a creative business, the competition will have a great deal to be worried about! You'll be a virtual idea factory and catching up with you will be nearly impossible!

Summary

Ever since Saturn entered your house of day-to-day work assignments in July 2005, you've worked very hard. Your company may have instituted cutbacks, so with less staff, you probably had to do the work of two. If you were self-employed, you might not have been able to afford to hire all the help you needed. The positive side to this is that you learned to become very efficient and productive. The downside is that at times, you may have felt exhausted!

Now Saturn leaves this part of your chart on September 2 and the picture will brighten - you will enjoy the fruits of your labors without so much day-to-day struggle. The working conditions are about to improve and a plum assignment may come up any day now. You will find it easier to find good help, and so generally, your day-to-day work environment should improve.

Saturn will move into Virgo on the same day, September 2, and at that time you will begin a long process of reassessment of all close contractual relationships. That includes your marriage if you are wed, and your close partners in business. By making commitments, you will become more seasoned and mature, and through the feedback of a partner, you will see yourself in a new light.

If your birthday falls at the end of February, you have already begun to see this trend even before Saturn arrived, as the degrees of Saturn were already close enough for you to pick up the vibes. Perhaps you will say that you have already learned a thing or two about partnerships.

You may have to help a partner who is going through a hard time, or you may find your partner has become needy or cranky. It will be up to you to find out why.

Saturn can bring either stability or frustration. To be sure your alliances go well, know your partner before you commit. If you are already part of a partnership, keep asking questions to be sure you know what your partner is thinking.

If a relationship is faltering, but you love your partner, you will need to address problems directly or risk seeing difficulties grow in time. Start now, and listen to your partner closely - you may pick up subtle signs of certain concerns that are not being voiced by your partner.

The eclipse on September 11 will offer you an opportunity to make a new partnership or to leave a difficult one. All solar eclipses open a door, but because Uranus will oppose the Sun at the time, you may hear some career news that causes you to scramble. No problem - you are getting good at these things.

Moreover, with Pluto and Venus turning direct on September 7 and 8 respectively, you are about to hit the top of the charts professionally. Lots of publicity and a chance to move up the ladder with a promotion or new client will happen near those dates and in months ahead.

The money you need to make your dream a reality will also come through. No matter what problems you may encounter this month, looking at the big, long-range picture, you seem untouchable. There seems to be nothing you can't overcome, and others will be in awe of you in motion.

Keep in mind that by early December you will be sitting on top of the world, with staggeringly important career developments due that will show you that you've been on the right track all along.

This month, due to the eclipse September 11, you would be wise to watch your health. If anything comes up, go for medical or dental advice without delay. A lot will be demanded of you in September, but as you get to the end of the month, things will seem easier.

At month's end, a financial matter will come up, and will require your attention, on or near September 26.

If you are working on your home, or want to move, you will have Mars help you throughout September. You will have to have things wrapped up by September 28, however, as Mars will leave this part of your chart and your attention and interest on home improvements will be drawn elsewhere.

After September 28, 2007, and continuing until May 9, 2008, you will enter into one of your most enchanting, romantic periods in recent years. It will provide the perfect counterpoint to your blossoming career.

Dear Pisces, although you'll have to get over a few speed bumps this month - mainly involving partners - you can handle all that comes up. You are sweeping out the cobwebs of your life, and what will be left will be what matters most to you. You are heading in the right direction, and that will be obvious very soon!
