Virgo Forecast for October 2008

Money has been a concern over the past two months because expenses have been rising. Fortunately, this month you will see a leveling off of those expenses and even have a chance to raise your weekly income to cover the outgo. Efforts to increase your income, whether by getting a raise, working overtime, or by getting a new job offer, will still be strong as you begin October.

Your first week will be your best time to ask, as the new moon that occurred September 29 was your green light to speak up. New moons always exert the strongest energy in the few days that follow them, so the first week of October is your time to assess things.

Pay attention to the time near October 5 when Venus and Jupiter will speak to one another on your behalf. That's a Sunday, but your good news could arrive as early as Friday, October 3, and as late as Monday, October 6.

Clearly, you should make inquiries with competitive firms or gather up the courage ask your present boss for a raise. The question is, will you take advantage of your planetary favor for money? You should, because if you act in the first week of October you stand a good chance of getting your ledgers back in the black. Don't let this chance to make more money pass you by!

While you are thinking about money, keep your eye on accounts receivables, too. Checks that are due you are likely to be late, due to Mercury retrograde in your second house of earned income. If you stay on top of things you should be able to get a speedy delivery of at least one check you need, but to do so, you'll need to be persistent.

You have two very positive financial days coming up, and both will relate to special luck with profits from real estate. The first day to watch will be October 1 when a positive beam between Mars and Pluto will give you special favor from a very wealthy, influential individual.

Watch the full moon (to be discussed in a minute), which could also help you crystallize a home or property deal on or within four days of October 14. This would also be a good time to look for bargains for anything you need for your home, but realize it's best to buy them closer to October 20 when Mercury won't mess things up!

The third day to circle for good news about money stemming from property will be October 21 when the Sun and Pluto combine energies, allowing you to get around obstacles that would baffle others. Banks seem to look upon you as a very attractive client on both days, so if you need money, ask!

More emphasis on money will occur on the full moon, October 14. At this time, a question or deal concerning "other people's money" will come to culmination. If you've been awaiting word from the bank about a loan or mortgage or from an insurance company or the courts about a claim, a favorable answer would come on October 14, plus or minus four days.

If you're trying to sell a house, raise venture capital, or apply for special financial aid for other reasons, all will be completed at this full moon, much to your relief. You will have more opportunities to settle home-related sales in late November and December, but after that, you'll have to wait until June 2009. If you do manage to sell property or make a deal with big-money interests, do so on or after October 20 if possible - you will want to get as far away as possible from Mercury's turn-to-direct date.

You may be negotiating another kind of contract this month, but with your ruler, Mercury, retrograde, it would be best to let talks drag on until Mercury has fully regulated its orbit October 20. In the first three weeks of October your environment will be in flux. If you sign in October's first three weeks, you won't have all the facts you need to make an informed decision and could regret doing so later. Wait until October 20 or beyond to agree to things. Use the intervening time to ask questions and to get the very best deal you can negotiate for yourself.

Against this financial background, opportunities to travel are sure to come up. Look into deals, for you may want to scoot away before cold winds blow. From October 4 onward, Mars will continue to help you pack and go.

More emphasis on travel will arrive at the new moon, October 28 and in the two weeks to come after that. That suggests that from then on, there'll be no stopping you. The energy of this new moon will be very strong in early November too, so if you look for places to go and people to see, you'll find them!

Improving your home or a property matter appears to be on your mind, too, although somewhat intermittently. With the move of Venus into your home sector on October 18 (to stay until November 12) you will be able to find the perfect touches to make your space more beautiful and much more reflective of the true you. If you turn an eagle eye to each room of your home, you can improve your home's look simply and possibly inexpensively in time for the coming holidays. Your best selections will occur after Venus enters Sagittarius, and after Mercury turns direct - from October 20 onward.

Once you get to the new moon October 28, one of the sweetest new moons of the year, you'll travel even more in weeks to come. It will introduce a very busy time for you, filled with meetings and gatherings, trips, and phone calls. Your schedule won't be prone to delays anymore, so you'll be moving at the speed of light. This is a trend that will extend into November, so you'll be on the go and enjoying every minute!

Best time for a quick, short trip: the weekend of October 25-26, extending into October 27 or Friday, October 31.

Romantically, you will have several glittering days to watch. Your first four-star day will arrive on October 4-5, a weekend, thanks to the sweet communication between Venus and Jupiter.

If you are attached, if you are a strong and happy couple, your partner is likely to delight you on one of two nights: October 9 or 10, when Venus and Uranus will be sending bolts of electricity strong enough for both of you to feel.

Then, just as special will be October 27, a Monday, when Mars and Jupiter, planet of luck, will go far out of their way to look out for you. You can benefit from these planets' energy over the preceding weekend, October 25-26, too.

Halloween, October 31, gets four stars this year. Falling on a Friday night, Mars will reach out to Uranus and shower you with surprisingly happy developments. If you are attached, you will have a slight edge, as your partner may have ideas about what to do that turn out to be right on target. You may have to travel by car a short distance to go to a party on this night, and although you may be tired from a full day of work, go. This night glitters for you.

The costumes will be very creative this year and be VERY entertaining. Try to go out if you can - or if you can't, invite the neighborhood children over to trick or treat. You'll really love what you see.

All the nights mentioned should set the right tone, and you may find your mind returns to these evenings over and over in weeks to come.

More money matters will be on your mind at the full moon October 14, but this time, it's money that you share with another person that will be the subject of your attention, say, a loan from a bank, sale of a house, venture capital, even child support or money divided among the parties in a divorce. This full moon will bring the Sun in perfect angle to Neptune, so you may sell something artistic at this time and make a royalty, licensing fee, or commission. You may win a small raffle or scratch off game, so you might want to treat yourself to a couple of tickets, just for fun. (Don't spend too much!)

Financial matters that were held up will "un-stick" a few days after Mercury goes direct on October 15. If a check has been late it will come, and if you have been awaiting an answer back on a request for a loan or mortgage from the bank, you will hear from the bank. You may have to take care of a very large financial obligation this week, perhaps to pay for tuition or a large credit card bill. Not to worry - you may know about this, and since the full moon is so sweetly angled to Pluto, it seems that you'll like the result. Real estate transactions glow especially brightly.

The Sun and Pluto will send friendly beams to each other on October 21, a day for more good home and property-related financial news.

Speaking of home, Venus will tour your house of home beginning October 18 to November 12, so grab the opportunity to brighten your home with little touches that make it look up-to-date and inviting. The timing of Venus is perfect, for the holidays are on the way!

Quick short trips can be in the cards for you too, and if you go over the weekend of October 25-26, your trip should be great fun. See if you can extend your trip into Monday, October 27, for a fabulous three days of R&R in the sunshine.

Over the past two years, managing one or the many personalities around you has been stressful. You have had to work hard to get others' support, and the more you had on the line, the more it seemed they resisted you. This trend is not completely over, as Uranus, the major planet causing this situation, isn't going anywhere soon.

Uranus moved into your partnering house in 2003 and is set to stay until 2011. Yet as is true of major, slow trends like this one, you feel Uranus most when he is moving overhead for a matter of months, not for years. Uranus is now at 22 degrees Pisces, so those Virgo who are feeling this trend most were born near or on September 11-14.

Virgos born in August are done with the strongest rays from Uranus, and those with birthdays that fall from September 1-11 have felt the biggest challenges too, mainly this year. The lesson in all this is to figure out how to negotiate with others who are often volatile and difficult while at the same time not selling out your own needs.

Virgo, generally, will always put others first. Your need to bring comfort to others and to nurture others around you is strong. Under these trends, however, taken to the extreme, others could easily take advantage of your good nature. Drawing the line is not something that comes easily to you, and although doing so can protect you, you often hesitate. (I completely understand, dear Virgo. I am the last person who should be talking about the value of drawing the line.)

Uranus will show you which relationships are worth keeping and which are best ended. If a relationship requires so much managing that you feel like you are running a marathon every day, then it is probably not worth having. Sometimes being alone can be peaceful and liberating. I realize that there are Virgos who are not in happy relationships right now because Uranus is testing the strength and viability of all your alliances, including your closest one, especially if your birthday falls in mid-September.

Not all Virgo alliances will fall away. This is only a testing phase, so if your main alliance is strong, you will know that to be true. You always have the option to strengthen the weak parts - a breakup is not the only answer. All our answers lie within us, not the stars.
