March 2008 - Virgo PDF Print E-mail

With a plethora of planets gathered on the Western side of your chart, it's clear that other people you know well will play a key role in all that you do this month. Cooperation and conciliation will be more important skills than those of leadership in the current environment. You won't be able to dictate results or even get them to precisely as you see them, but rather will gently shape those results, allowing others their opinions, too. The needs of the group will be paramount, for it will keep spirits up. Actually, you sense this and probably are OK with it. Since last September 2007 you have shouldered quite a bit of responsibly, and it continues to mount.

This month, with so many others voicing their opinions, you won't have to worry about making all the decisions - others want their turn and you will be glad to let them. That doesn't mean you will abdicate your responsibilities - you will be as idealistic as ever - but this month you will be wise to choose your battles and more gently guide group thinking.

It's clear that these days, you go to your partners for your source of excitement and inspiration, and you are finding one or more people who fit that description.

Now the new moon, March 7, will bring another partnership into the picture. This person may be a genius, for Uranus rules brilliance and people who are far ahead of their time. You may be getting ready to make a partnership official, and if so, this month would be the time to draw up the parameters of that agreement.

Something very sudden and unexpected is about to develop regarding this pairing, so proceed carefully and don't be impulsive, even though you will want to be. Aspects are really good, but there will be a tendency for you, and others, to rush. This partnership may be business or personal in nature, but it seems a little more likely for a business relationship. Either way, it's the perfect time to be thinking about coming together.

Jupiter, the planet of good fortune, will be in elegant aspect to Uranus, the Sun, and new moon, the reason I am so excited about what is shaping up for you. Jupiter is now based in your creative house, so align with partners who can help you materialize your artistic visions. This same house rules romance, so if you are in love, you may now pop the question or be on the receiving end of a proposal. As you see, this looks like a very exciting time!

Last month was very difficult, for the month held two major eclipses, always harbingers of change. One of those eclipses was in Virgo, affecting Virgos with birthdays that fall within five days of August 24. It was conjunct Saturn, so the message was probably somewhat heavy and serious. I am glad that eclipse is over. If you were born at the end of August and didn't notice anything, that's good, but you still have to get through March 20, plus or minus four days. Sometimes an eclipse will deliver its message one month to the day later, plus or minus four days. Once this month is over, you will have gotten too far from the eclipse in Virgo. There will be no more eclipses to worry about for nine more years.

You do still have Saturn on your Sun, which means you are handling more responsibility than ever. You may have taken on a new position or started a new business, moved cross-country, got married, had your first baby, or purchased your first house. Something about what you are doing is so new that there will be lots to learn. Every day is new - and exhausting.

Saturn periods always require more sleep and a diet rich in calcium and iron, so make sure you get enough of both minerals. It is a very strenuous time, one that only comes by once every 29 years. If you were born in August, you are feeling the direct rays of Saturn, a situation that will only last until August 2008. After that, September-born Virgo will be next in line in the months to come, and you will be getting Saturn's special tutoring. No matter when you were born, you are starting an important new chapter of your life, laying the very foundations for the future. When I had your Saturn aspects (and it was exactly as the August-born have now), I started Astrology Zone. It's all for good.

If you are an August-born Virgo, you may feel as though you are swimming in high seas by yourself. Saturn will occasionally isolate you to see how you do on your own. Part of Saturn's job is to make you more mature and more independent, but admittedly, his tactics can be a bit severe at times. You will have qualified help around you if you look - particularly this month - so among the people you trust, reach out and ask for advice or help.

There is one day, however, that is likely to be troublesome - March 7 when two powerhouses, Mars and Pluto, will oppose one another. I had mentioned this date, March 7, earlier because it is the new moon, but that aspect is a good one and will open a window of partnership opportunity that will last two weeks. The opposition of Mars and Pluto is another one that will last only a day or two and will create pressure.

It appears you will have problems with a friend on this day, March 7, perhaps when she voices an opinion about the person you are dating or about your parenting style. No matter what the comment is about, it will be one you won't appreciate and may even find outrageously offensive. If the friendship means something to you, try to ignore the comment. Otherwise, you may have a meltdown!

At the full moon, March 21, you will be finalizing a financial plan or hearing back about a raise in salary. Alas, the planets won't be cooperative at this time, and since they will be warring with one another, whatever financials you are thinking about at this time are likely to be fraught with tension and bring on a contentious set of discussions.

That full moon will bring an exact cardinal cross pattern into play, with the moon directly opposite the Sun and Mars opposed to Pluto - and all these planets will be in hard "square" angle to one another, and each will be in one of the cardinal signs. Full moons demand closure and since this is a cardinal cross formation at the full moon, it will create certain tensions.

A cardinal crosses feel burdensome, can be frustrating, and can create a sense of urgency so that you feel you have to hurry up and act - and you do. You may need to pay a bill or buy or sell a valuable possession, such as a car or a house. You may feel stress because you don't like having to lower your price or pay a higher one than you anticipated, for example. If self-employed, you may be wrangling with banks or venture capitalists, or being asked by a valued employee to pay more salary or else lose him or her. These things can make anyone feel squeezed.

If you are trying to choose between two job offers, you will probably prefer the job with the lower salary - isn't that always the case? I know that is frustrating. Yet you should never choose a job just for the money, dear Virgo. Money gets old fast. You need to like the job, and if you do, you'll excel at it. Perhaps that will help you decide.

Your career consumed you last month and - despite all the delays, setbacks, and postponements you encountered because Mercury was retrograde - you were able to get over those hurdles and managed to impress the powers-that-be at the top anyway. Now, in March and April, with Mars moving through your 11th house of people, places, and events, it seems certain that you will have a much more lively social life. Hooray! This same house also rules hopes and wishes, so you may find that one dream dear to you is finally within grasp. This should be a very satisfying phase, one brimming with new faces to meet, places to go, and creative projects to work on.

If you are in love with someone you are dating, your chart shows that your sweetheart is literally right at your side. Your thinking together is so close as to be identical, and you share the very same instincts. This gives you a very comforting feeling - you really feel understood by your lover these days. That certainly had not been the case a year or two ago (or even last month, if you broke up as a result of the difficult February 20 eclipse).

You also likely feel that you've improved your life by choosing your present partner over ones you dated in the past, and in that sense, you are right to feel progress. You know yourself better now and are more able to spot the right person for you. This bodes so well for enjoying happier relationships from now on.

It seems very likely that you and your sweetheart work together, but this might not be wise. You have a lot riding on your career, and if the personal part of your life encroaches on the professional, it may jeopardize everything you have worked so hard to achieve. Be discreet - it's very important that you do, for your business reputation.

If you are not dating, you may find someone special by late April or in May. With Jupiter in your love and happiness house until early January 2009, never have your chances been better to start over and find the love of your life. This month seems to favor those who are attached now and ready to commit, or to simply enjoy what they have now. If you broke up with someone last month, you are still reacting to that situation and you need time. There is no right or wrong time - take it slow.

March 15-16 should be one of your best romantic nights out, thanks to Mars and Venus, eyeing one another across the midnight sky - and flirting with one another like mad!

Your best romantic days include: March 1, 7-11, 15-16, 19-20, 24-25, and 27-30.

Despite tensions you may have with certain people this month, March will end on a glorious note.

Mercury, now no longer retrograde as it was last month, will make two lovely aspects to other planets on March 27, one to Uranus, the planet of surprise, and one to Jupiter, planet of good fortune. Wow! March 27 will be simply perfect for you! Use this day for any purpose - a brainstorming session for a creative idea, a pitch or presentation, or for the signing of a contract. Travel, or have a romantic date! It's up to you.

The following day, May 28, should shine for you, too. Jupiter and Uranus will send an outstanding beam to one another, linking love and creativity to commitment and partnership. You may be getting more serious about a partner by month's end. Certainly you are filled with hope and inspiration.

The future, at long last, looks better than it has in ages, and you can see the pink glow of dawn peeping behind the mountains. It's been a long journey and while you have a very long way to go, it's comforting to see such progress. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other, dear Virgo. You are on your way and will have so much to be proud of later!

Summary

This month puts a big emphasis on relationships. If single, you'll not lack parties and other opportunities to meet suitable new romantic partners. With Jupiter shining in your house of true love, he will act like a kind uncle anxious to get you married off by introducing you to many attractive people. Meanwhile in your social sector, Mars will do his best to keep you mixing and mingling. Wow, that's lots of cosmic help, dear Virgo!

With Saturn in Virgo too, you do have many responsibilities, but if you can clear your calendar to go out more, you'll be glad you did.

If you have been dating seriously, your sweetheart may pop the question on March 7 (the new moon is in your marriage sector) or within the two weeks that follow that date. With Uranus conjoined the Sun, you'll be completely surprised by this proposal, but if you're in love, you'll accept. Why wait? If you are not dating anyone seriously, then this new moon will bring up the chance to create a serious business partnership - this is actually the more likely way this new moon will workout.

There may be one disruptive moment when a friend injects her unsolicited opinion into a romantic matter near March 7. You are likely to see red, and this would occur just when everything in life is blooming so beautifully. It's unlikely your friend will do anything to change your mind about the one you love, so she might have saved her breath. More likely is that you will change your mind about your friend! See how things go. Fortunately, Jupiter and the Sun will be well angled, so you seem to come out unscathed.

Paying a bill will be on your mind at the full moon, March 21. With planets squaring off, all in critical degrees of cardinal signs, you may write a check for expensive purchase, such as for a car or the down payment on a house. You may not like having to lower your price or make other adjustments.

Or, you may be raising money for an entrepreneurial project. Something seems to be up, but because planets are at hard angles, you may now face an obstacle that will require a solution. This does not seem to be a serious, long-term problem, but admittedly, you may feel tight financially for a little while until you do untangle things.
